Remember when choosing the right stair company for the right project, it’s better to contact us at the inception of the design when you have the luxury of options and time available. Unfortunately, the longer you wait the more you will limit your choices, create unnecessary expenses or delays, and it will limit your design capabilities.
If you aren’t sure, no need to worry! Feel free to ask us questions and we will provide you the answers. Does your company repair existing stairs and or railings?
Royal Oak will not repair existing stairs and or railings, as we do not warranty this type of work.
Does your company provide exterior stairs/railings?
Royal Oak does not provide exterior stairs or railings, only interior.
Does your company provide metal stairs?
No, Royal Oak does not manufacture metal stairs.
Can your company reuse my existing railings/components?
No, we cannot reuse your existing materials, as we cannot warranty the products and or installation. Many different issues arise with trying to use existing material including complying with the Building Codes.
Do you supply and install nosing?
Yes, Royal Oak will manufacture, supply and install nosing but we do not manufacture, supply and or install trim, transitions or reducers. If you desire your nosing to be installed prior to the railing installation a surcharge will be assessed to your project (see contract for details). Do you recap stairs?
Every day we are asked to convert an existing carpet grade stair into a hardwood stair. Yes, however this process is labour intensive and requires approximately 2-5 days completing. It is important to remember that a great deal of dust and debris is generated. While we will tarp off the immediate work area, and perform a general cleanup, a thorough cleaning should be performed by others. Since every stair is different, please contact one of our representatives to see if this is the right solution for you.
Can you tell me more about your lead times?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions in the housing industry. The answer to this question is often a great source of stress to both clients and trades alike. It is important to remember a lead time is a guideline and not a confirmation. A lead time should be taken with a degree of latitude. Royal Oak has invested in both technology and professional expertise to improve our lead time accuracy, but due to many differing conditions we are unable to guarantee an absolute time frame.
Do you provide a site visit?
Once we have obtained some general information such as site location and general scope of work one of our sales representatives will contact you to discuss your project in more detail. A site visit would be arranged where a more accurate assessment of your project will be established. A site visit often uncovers options not otherwise considered. They can include monetary savings and making your stair and railing installation more gratifying.
Do you provide a proposal with your projects?
Once the required information has been obtained you will receive a written proposal from your sales representative. The proposal will outline the work to be undertaken, any relative work not included as well as the payment terms. The proposal is an important document and should be read carefully and fully understood. Should you have any questions or require clarification on the terminology used, please consult your sales representative. This document is designed to benefit both parties and to establish common ground.
